ABB, a global leader in electrification, automation, and digital technologies, and Formula E, a high-level electric racing platform, share a clear ambition: to accelerate the transition toward clean and sustainable mobility.

Since January 2018, Swiss industrial group ABB has been engaged as Title Partner of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the world’s first all-electric single-seater racing series sanctioned by the FIA. This marked a global first in the history of motorsport.

Charging Solutions for Electric Race Cars over the seasons, the collaboration has evolved well beyond sponsorship:
• Official Charging Partner: Since Season 9, ABB has been the Official Charging Partner of the championship.
• Cutting-edge technology for Gen3 cars: ABB designs robust, portable charging units capable of charging two cars simultaneously at up to 160 kW, tailored to the needs of a global, traveling championship.
• Partnership extended to 2030: The agreement has recently been renewed, confirming ABB’s long-term commitment to delivering charging solutions and supporting the technical evolution of the series.


A Platform for Sustainability and Social Impact beyond technology, ABB and Formula E collaborate on broader social initiatives:
• “FIA Girls on Track – ABB Formula E” program: ABB is a global partner of this initiative, which aims to inspire young women to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and to engage with the worlds of electric mobility and engineering.
